Stretch marks are usually the result of rapid weight gain. As tissue underneath the skin grows, the skin must also stretch to adapt to the larger surface it must cover. If this happens too quickly, the skin is stretched thin and stretch marks appear. Stretch marks are treated with lasers, and usually take multiple sessions to see improvements.
